It is essential that every traveller purchases a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes medical repatriation that lasts the length of the trip, including departure and arrival back to country of origin. S2Si will give advice and make recommendations on suppliers. Nearer the time of departure, S2Si will provide advice on who to contact. S2Si will provide a detailed kit list in the information pack that you receive after you have signed-up. This will contain a list of what you need to bring on the expedition and what S2Si can provide.

S2Si has a medical director and medical consultant who oversee the medical advice and work we do. S2Si also provides a 24/7 reach back service where appropriate and when participants are on expedition. In addition to this we ask every participant to complete a comprehensive medical form after signing up. This is made available to our leaders and it is important every participant informs their insurance provider of any pre-existing medical conditions. S2Si provides information on inoculations anExpert medical supportd malaria tablets in your information pack, post sign-up. However the latest advice can also be sourced from the following:

Nomad: Their medical helpline is 09068 633 414.  Calls cost 60p per minute. Alternatively you can visit any branch and get free advice.

The MASTA health line: 09068 224100, or you can obtain their Health Advice for Travellers booklet for free by calling 0800 555777.

The British Airways Travel Clinic: 01276 685040.

A good website to consult is www.fitfortravel.scot.nhs.uk

We recommend that you consult your GP/travel health clinic at least two months before departure.  Your GP will have access to your medical notes so will be able to advise which vaccinations you have had.  However, it is worth consulting other organisations as not all GPs may have the very latest and detailed knowledge of the areas in which we work and the price of vaccinations may vary.

FLIGHTS

The start of the expedition or trip is generally the main international airport of entry into the country you are going to. In some instances, like Papua New Guinea, the expedition / trip starts after a connecting internal flight. S2Si will pick you up from the designated airport and provide information on international and internal flights as well as confirm the date and time you will need to meet your group in-country. S2Si does not sell flights and we cannot arrange your flights for you, however the Flight Centre is our preferred supplier—Ian White at the Flight Centre is able to ensure all expedition members receive the most competitive fares and advice through his knowledge of the routings, please contact Ian on: ian.white@flightcentre.co.uk or call 0207 240 5938.
Bespoke adventure travel and expeditions
The expedition and trip dates are the in-country dates. These are the dates you should arrive at the designated airport. S2Si may be able to pick people up who have arrived early, so the important thing is to call us and Flight Centre to discuss your travel arrangements.

Please remember that this information covers all of our Tribal and Undiscovered adventures, so give us a call to discuss the specifics of your trip!
