Tribal adventure trips
S2Si are now offering the opportunity to travel where very few have. S2SiTribal will often see you trek into a remote area and spend time with indigenous communities. These are such exciting and life-changing trips as you are not only experiencing a challenging and fun trekking adventure, but you are also experiencing the true culture of the fascinating country you are going to. You could be using blowpipes with the Penan in the Heart of the Borneo jungle on one trip, watching a very rare spiritual dance (Fire Dance) with the Baining people of Papua New Guinea or enjoying the Berber culture deep into the sand dunes and deserts of southern Morocco.
Two decades of experience is complemented by an existing panel of specialist expedition consultants, all of whom are experts in their field. What this means is, whatever the project, whatever the destination, however remote or challenging the environment, S2Si can assist anybody who is interested in the more extreme side of adventure travel.
Working Worldwide
S2Si's roots lie deep in the jungle, having originally specialised in running project-based conservation expeditions in the world's rainforests. Nowadays, however, they operate on a global scale, providing technical advice and assistance on all of the Earth's remote and difficult environments. Whether it be the Mountains, the Jungle, the Desert or the Polar regions, travelling by foot, by vehicle, by canoe or by camel, S2Si can ensure that all their expeditions run safely and smoothly.
Expedition assistance and advice
S2Si can assist in any number of different areas, from the development of initial concepts, to assistance in the field. Itinerary planning, risk assesment, team selection, pre-departure medical examinations, global logistics, destination-specific training, 24-hour safety and back-up, in-country leadership, medics and medical back-up, and satellite communications all fall within S2Si's expansive remit.
Should you want your project to be demanding or adventurous, S2Si can help to ensure that the nature of the expedition matches the fitness levels and expectations of your team. They can also analyse the dangers involved and reduce risks to a minimum. Alternatively, you might opt for more of a project-based experience, something S2Si excels in. In this instance, S2Si can either tap into its existing level of contacts in remote corners of the world, or assist you in developing your own project ideas.
Pre-departure preparation
Training and acclimatisation are key to any successful expedition, two elements often overlooked by aspiring adventurers. To combat this problem, S2Si can advise on the length and intensity of training needed, both prior to departure and upon arrival in-country. They can also provide qualified and experienced instructors, who can deliver destination-specific training programmes and provide all of the information and skills needed to operate in a chosen environment.
Safety and back-up
Experienced expedition leaders, as well as trained and qualified medical personnel provide a much-needed dimension of safety to a project. Behind such individuals lies a large-scale network of safety procedures, which includes a 24-hour crisis response team, in-country personnel, satellite communications, UK staff, an international medical assistance company and detailed security and personal risk analysis.
