Do your bit, and sign up here: The Prince's Rainforests Project
Bruce Parry and Ben Fogle are part of this film helping to promote the PRP - Rob's spent a lot of time in rainforests around the world with both of these guys, and the Sky2Sea team fully support this endevour to save the world's rainforests.
Some of the team's personal Rainforest SOS messages can be read at the end of this page...
“Positive action to save the world’s rainforests is an important issue for all of us – it transcends culture, race and politics. By showing people the beauty of the jungle and really engaging folk in what lives and breathes as a result of the rainforest, we will start to make a positive change. Millions of people depend on the rainforest for their livelihoods and culture and we would love to show everyone the amazing wildlife, the outstanding flora and people it has to offer; however anyone can make a difference now by signing up today for the Princes Rainforests Project, and join in with that one positive voice.” Rainforest SOS: Rob Murray-John, MD Sky2Sea International
"The day will come when we will only see pictures of mature jungle, jaguars and tribesmen in books. We need to help the jungle regions of the World to use their forests in a sustainable and responsible fashion, whilst allowing them to maintain their culture and livelihoods. Remove the pressure to deforest and create farmland. Organisations such as the Prince's Rainforests Project are here to educate, inform and help maintain one of the World's natural wonders." Rainforest SOS: Harry Everard, Head of Operations, Sky2Sea International
"I still remember being seven years old and having a whole day at school devoted to learning about Papua New Guinea...we had a man who had lived there come in with spears and pictures of houses on stilts...How would I feel if my children aren't able to have the same thing that inspires a love of adventure, conservation, and an appriciation of life outside what they know already? Pretty terrible. We need to act for the good of generations to come, and even though saving the rainforests is never going to be a black and white subject, we must all take responsibility and work it out. Everybody needs the 'lungs of the Earth'; surely we can make the collective effort before it's too late. The Prince's Rainforests Project is attempting to unite voices and send a message around the world that we need change. Please support the PRP, for the good of all life on our planet."
