Day 1: Transit to Patagonia
After your arrival to the beautiful lakeside town of Bariloche, Argentina our guides will meet you at the airport to begin our trip into the Andes Mountains. During the journey you will have endless opportunities to stop and enjoy the breathtaking views of mountain lakes and glaciers as well as a chance to delight in some Argentinean culture. After arriving in the Futaleufley you will cross over the border into Chile and be introduced to your own private lodge located on the shores of the Rio Futaleufe evening will be spent relaxing in the riverside hot tub and enjoying a fine dinner prepared by our personal chef.
Day 2: Ascent to expedition start - Horseback Riding
The day will begin by waking up to sound of flowing water and a wonderful breakfast in the lodges dining room lounge. After breakfast we will begin the day with a briefing of how the rest of the week will go and what to expect during your trip across Patagonia. A gear inspection will be made and then you will be off to the beginning of the ascent to our summit starting point. After meeting our Chilean cowboy guide you will saddle up and head into the some of the most rugged parts of the Southern Andes to our high mountain basecamp. Dinner will be prepared by our chef over open fire and you will spend the evening enjoying a good bottle of Chilean wine while watching the sunset over the mountains.
Day 3: Summer & Winter Mountaineering - Rock Climbing - Expedition start!
Your day will begin with an early alpine start for our summit attempt on the towering Tres Monjas (elevation: 2010m) Beginning with easy mountain scrambling, the climb will get technically more difficult as the day goes on ending with a grand finale of rock climbing to reach the summit pinnacle. The Sky2SiExpedition formally begins! After enjoying the spectacular views from the summit tower, you will begin the rappel descent down the mountain face to the glacier below. Glacier abseiling and trekking will lead us to our lodging for the evening in an Andean cowboy camp.
Day 4: Mountain Biking - Whitewater Rafting
Beginning the day with a relaxed breakfast and a stroll down the valley you will swap trekking for a downhill mountain bike ride to the shores of the Rio Futaleufu. After gearing up for the river rafting portion of the trip you begin your journey down one of the best whitewater rivers in the world. Rapid after rapid of pure big water action will lead you to the next S2Si riverside cabin camp. We will take a load off by enjoying a classic Chilean dinner followed by a soak in the rustic wooden hot tub.
Day 5: Whitewater Rafting - Whitewater Kayaking
After the previous days training we will set off again in our rafts to conquer some huge class V whitewater on our journey to the end of the Rio Futaleufu. As the river begins to ease you will switch over to your own craft and enjoy the freedom of paddling a kayak in the last section of whitewater rapids before reaching the glacial tinted, Lake Yelcho. The S2Si beach camp will surely be a place not soon forgotten!
Day 6: Fishing the beautiful Lake Yelcho - Sea Kayaking
Wake up on a breathtaking beach at the far end of Lake Yelcho for a hot cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast to start the day. You will have a choice of activities for the day based on your energy level and desires. You may spend the day fishing some of the best trout waters in Patagonia, or if you want to complete the Sky2Si journey to the ocean without the use of a motor, you may spend the day paddling your sea kayak across the remote Lake Yelcho. Either way, you will surely find this lake to be one of the most inspiring landscapes on the planet. Your evening will be spent sitting around a campfire telling stories and sipping Chilean wine under the Southern Cross.
Day 7: River Kayaking - Ocean Kayaking
A very anticipated day! By early afternoon you will be paddling your own sea kayak in the waters of the Pacific Ocean with the satisfaction of having spent the previous six days hiking, climbing, abseiling, biking, and paddling from Sky2Sea in Patagonia! After celebrating our arrival to sea level, we will make the quick paddle over to our expedition endpoint and enjoy the ride back to our base camp for an exquisite dinner prepared by our chef. After dinner we will spend the evening soaking in the hot tub and telling stories of all the great moments experienced during this unique Patagonian Sky2Sea Expedition.
Day 8: Scenic Drive - Transport back to Bariloche
Waking up for the final morning to the sounds of the Rio Futaleufu you will enjoy a light breakfast before saying good-byes and embarking on your journey back to Bariloche, Argentina for your flight home. What an amazing one-off experience in Patagonia!

There are so many exciting things to do in Patagonia, Chile after the expedition and we appriciate that for some, Patagonia is the other side of the world!
